Book of the term - Wood Lane

Our new Book of the term is: Elmer by David McKee

This book is about individuality. Elmer is a multi-coloured patchwork elephant. He is lots of fun and entertains all the other elephants. One day he decides he doesn’t like being different anymore and goes in search of grey berries to turn his skin the same colour as all of his friends. But soon Elmer realizes when none of his friends recognize him and are no longer enjoying themselves that being the same as everyone else isn’t so important.

We are going to be reading this book with the children over the course of the term and doing plenty of activities which are aimed at supporting the children to understand the story and the words used. Examples of such activities maybe: role plays and creating relevant pictures.
